How to find huge property bargains in London

Buying a property, what should you look out for?

This may seem obvious to some, however there are a number of things that need to be considered when buying a property i.e good transportation links. Even if your not a frequent user of public transport, this is something you should consider especially if you intend on selling or renting in the future.

Personally, I would consider overlooked areas like Fish Island in East London, which is considered to be the up and coming Shoreditch. Many areas in London are currently undergoing regeneration and Fish Island is one of them! The new Shoreditch, as it is acclaimed, is bang in the centre of Hackney Wick and the Olympic Park. Currently known for providing affordable spaces for artists, Fish Island is soon to be populated with new apartments and houses.

Areas like this are great because art is known for bringing communities together and adding vibrance to its surroundings. Developers scooping up land in this area are promising to keep the distinctive ambience of Fish Island alive and not turn it into a replica of other regeneration areas as is the current fashion, in my humble opinion.

There will be a number of changes in the area including more shops, leisure facilities, better transportation links and other amenities. The London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC) also intends on building a footbridge to connect Fish Island with the new facilities planned for the Olympic Park.

Don’t get fixated on neighbouring areas like Stratford that have undergone a regeneration as they are much more expensive, and it is common that neighbouring areas usually benefit from a regeneration themselves scoop properties up before the area is regenerated to save some money. I implore you to get out there and do your research to uncover hidden gems in London like Fish Island. This is the way to find bargains in regeneration areas.

Consider places like Barking, Woolwich, Greenwich, Lewisham, Brentford and Croydon.

Now is the time to ‘spot it’.

While it’s still relatively affordable…
