Maximise your room

Need help keeping your small room organised?

London and ‘box’ rooms, what a joke! If you have one of these, I deeply feel your pain, oh how quickly your room gets cluttered and disorganised.

This post will provide a quick guide to enable you to keep your room organised.

Organise your belongings

Firstly, you need to figure out what kind of storage space is most essential to you i.e what item do you have most of, is it clothes? shoes? books?

Finding the right storage unit

Once this is done, you will then have an understanding of how much space you have left. In this age, it’s extremely easy to find multipurpose furniture that can also serve as storage space. You can get beds, tables, chairs, ottomans with storage space. The possibilities are endless.

Choosing the right furniture

In an extremely small room, I would advise you get a daybed (with a metal frame to add character to your room), which vary in size. Depending on how much storage space you need, I would recommend you get under-bed storage units or ottomans with storage space (which can also go under your bed).

Some rooms don’t have enough room for cupboards or drawers, in this case, I would recommend clothing rails & shelves to make use of the space on the walls. Also, in this instance, some sort of shoe storage is essential to complete the organised look.

Once the essentials are covered, you can work around other personal touches like a notice board, to pin loose sheets and pictures down.

Try as much as possible to use multipurpose and foldable furniture. Here are some pictures to give you some ideas.
